Final stucco layers have been delayed for a couple of weeks because the base mix did not match our sample. It turns out that the supplier changed the base mix and is no longer able to produce the color sample that we painstakingly selected. We wanted a white that would not have any pinkish hue to it under any circumstances. Creamy white ok, pinkish white not ok. So, our contractor had to find a new supplier to try to match our sample. The new stucco went up on Wednesday, and today we got our first view of it dry:
It is hard to tell the actual appearance from a photo on a cloudy day, with scaffolding in front. But the contractor says it looks good. He has become attuned to our (actually Rod's) sensitivity to aesthetics, so at this point we are relying on his judgment.
