The log jam begins to break open

"Phase 1" (about half) of the custom cabinets are due this Thursday! The remainder are due in on Valentine's Day.

Besides the cabinets, we have had a big problem with some MBA tiles.

Above, note the shiny tile in the upper part of both photos. The 1st floor tiles (MBA, entry foyer, and hallways) will all be the same, but a few pieces in the MBA will be larger tiles than most of the others. These larger (18" x 36") tiles, as originally shipped, were much shinier than the rest of the tiles. Unfortunately, these tiles came from Italy. As you may recall, the MBA tile was first laid down in early November. It has taken almost 3 months to get the shiny tiles replaced. And as the above photos indicate, the replacement tiles are much larger. So the contractor will have to cut them down to size.

Still, you can see that the replacements are a much better match to the rest of the tiles.

Meanwhile, I think the contractor got bored, as he proceeded to lay down the remaining 1st floor tile - before the cabinets arrive.
