Back of the House and "Great Room"

I knew there must be a good reason we spent money for mahogany soffits underneath the roof. Everybody is pleased with this view of the house from the lake side.

As you might suspect given the lack of finished cabinet photos, we have had/are having issues with the cabinets. First, we ended up having to split the cabinet job between two suppliers because the original supplier could not meet all of the custom requirements that we have. And getting the 2nd (custom) cabinet supplier to production has taken a while.

The gray lower-kitchen cabinets from the original supplier turned out fine, and that is why they are now in. But the other cabinets in the house from the original supplier will be white - as you may have surmised from a few previous blog photos of cabinets in various places. Unfortunately, the white finishes did not come out uniformly consistent from MDF cabinet to MDF cabinet. So these cabinets - which will go into the guest BAs, jack & jill BA, upper kitchen, and laundry room - are being re-worked.

Meanwhile, the (2nd) custom cabinet supplier is responsible for MBA cabinets, MBR TV monolith, media room TV monolith, and the cabinets that will divide the kitchen from the dining room and media room from the living room. Since it will take about 6 weeks to make the custom cabinets and production is just starting, this is the project bottleneck. Stay tuned.
