Landscaping: initial plantings

The plan is to create a screen along the property lines facing the street and the neighbor to the south (wood-shingled house) to provide privacy to the terrace and a more attractive view from the GBR 1. We went with emerald greens to screen the neighbor toward the back of our house, but were not sure what to use for the front. So, we decided to plant the trees and certain shrubs first before making the decision on plants/trees to use for screening in the front.

Here, you can see what I mean by the front screen not yet being in place. We will plant materials behind both the shrubs surrounding the terrace and behind the red-bark Japanese Maples to largely block out the views of the southern neighbor(s) and street.
