Left photo is upper floor. Note the indented rectangle at the ceiling just right of center. We will be building a "monolith" from floor to just 2" short of the ceiling at that spot to separate the media room from the kitchen and to house the TV, etc. We thought about adding a skylight here, but decided against. We are considering an LED light strip on top of the monolith instead. With just 2" to spare, however, the lights probably would not be replaceable.
Right photo shows two drapery tracks in the ceiling for the MBR: one for sheer, one for heavy drape.
Fireplace vent has been moved to the floor, underneath the hearth. We will cover it with a wood grille, as we will have similar wood grilles on the floor covering heat registers/vents along the sliding glass doors.
Powder room realignment is now complete.
