Cabinets Progress

This is the halo effect that we intended to create with the media monolith (through LED lighting), as it now appears to extend into the sky. Note that this monolith will be painted a dark color to match the trim on the sliding glass doors that lead out to the deck.

MBA vanity now in place. We had an issue here - the middle drawer was supposed to be deep enough (15" clear) to house our electric toothbrushes and hair dryer, but was only 13.5" deep after original construction. We assume that the problem has been fixed, but Rod will verify in person next Tuesday.

The cabinets separating the kitchen and dining room are being installed. Doors will be placed on the DR-facing cabinets, which will house plates, serving dishes, etc.

One more issue to resolve with the kitchen pantry cabinets. Note how the shelves are not aligned properly. This will be corrected. The upper three shelves will  be aligned, while the lower shelves will  be made adjustable to accommodate odd-sized containers.

Bottom-line on the custom cabinets: We are pleased with the quality. It has been a bumpy ride to get our exact specifications met, but we appear to be just about there.
